We appreciate being referred to Buyers and Sellers by agents from other parts of the country....from Active Rain...from other Keller Williams agents who have read our profile and feel we would be a good resource/realtor for their Seller or buyer, from our past clients and customers who are just the best as well as our network of business associates. Over 95 per cent of our business comesss from this variety of referral sources with which we continually network.
We are given the referred Seller or Buyer's contact information and they are usually given ours and there has been this sort of "informal introduction" on email and in conversation before we actually speak to the referred party.
The warm introductions we have had from the referring party pave the way for the beginning of a successful relationship.
Once in a great while...we contact the referred party and they tell us that they never asked for...do not want a referral and prefer to work with ....a family member ....search for homes on their own...offer their home as a FSBO...whatever the circumstance and cannot understand why we are calling them to offer our services. We honor their wishes and let them know we are available for questions or service should they change their mind.
We get back to the referral source and tell them the "Referrees" response. We leave the "option door open" but do not see it as our job to convince them that referrals are best and they are wrong. Just as it is a willing buyer to a willing seller...it is also a willing "Referr-ee" to an agent...the Buyer or Seller decides their own course of action.
