The Best Beach in South Bellevue.
The Best Beach in South Bellevue is absolutely Newcastle Beach. This beach boasts acres of wonderfully soft, green grass and classic Northwest landscaping of rhododendron plants, evergreen trees, and walking trails aplenty. The beach itself is totally free of geese (a serious problem on the east side!) and houses a regular lifeguard to keep your kiddos safe. I have a 2 year old son who just loves to splash around in the water and make sandcastles at Newcastle Beach. Ask any toddler, and they will agree that Newcastle is the best beach in south Bellevue.
Conveniently located just south of Factoria, Newcastle beach has a wide variety of things to do. There is
a fabulous playground complete with a classic swing-set, train themed play toys and two awesome slides.
There is also a large, flat grassy area that is perfect for Frisbee, football, picnics and croquet. Adjacent to this field, there is a small collection of walking/cycling trails through the woods. This is a great way to explore traditional Northwest outdoors activities all in one place. I really think a main reason Newcastle is the best beach in south Bellevue is the ample parking. Many beaches boast beautiful views and swimming galore, but lack in the parking or even *gasp* charge you to park! Newcastle has two large parking lots free for visitors to use.
Anytime the weather is pleasant here in the Seattle area, I always take my son down to Newcastle beach to explore the trails, splash in the cool lake and monkey around on the playground. The abundance of choices available at Newcastle is primarily what makes it the best beach in south Bellevue! So, if you are visiting the Seattle area, pop on over to the east side and soak up some sun, cool off in the water, and maybe even BBQ and picnic with friends at Newcastle beach.
