Real Estate QuestionDoes your real estate blog reveal any surprises?

I always take the time to look back at the stats from my real estate blogging to see what subject got the most attention for the viewers of my blog.

The #1 subject to my blog that has the highest amount of stats wasn't really a surprise; the Kitchen remodel.  I think anything Kitchen related is going to get attention.  It is the heart of the home.

The #2 subject to my blog did get my attention; the Secret Room!  This was a complete surprise.  People love the mystery of having a secret room somewhere in the house.  It doesn't need to be a full size room, it could be a cut-out from below the stairs.

I'm sure that there are a number of reasons that people would like to have a Secret Room.  Maybe having a place to go if there was an intruder or hiding the Christmas presents for the kids.  Someone mentioned that they have a hidden room for their gun collection.

The next time I have a client looking at building a new home or finishing out a basement, I would at least give them the suggestion to consider adding a secret room to it.  Maybe adding a bookcase with a hinged door to a small area in the basement.  How cool would that be to show off for guests!

Laura: I love to discover secret rooms when showing a home with prospective buyers. It always is something the buyers discuss after leaving the home and they have no problem remembering the property. Great blog post!

Laura- I love going back to see which posts received and continue to receive clicks.  It gives me an idea of what to write. And, I like the idea of a secret room.  In one of our houses, we had a secret space in the cabinets my husband built in a study.  It wasspace for some of his hunting rifles and other items and was wired to the alarm.

okay if you show it off... it is not a secret room anymore.

And yes, I found one of those surprises looking at my stats once.  A post I wrote about my Christmas love letter from my husband.
