More on Multigenerational Home- Asheville-style

More and more these days,  people across the land are opting for homes that can work across three generations of the family.   This is substantiated by a recent Pew Research Center Report. It  pointed out that  living in mutigenerational households is on the rise.

"In general, people want to be more connected.
We are becoming a culture of responsibility and more meaningful relationships."

Gina Canzonetta

Is this simply due to "The Economy"? Not so say a number of Asheville, N.C. homebuilders.  FAMILY HOMES  that serve across the generations are  designed with separate living spaces and an open concept central area. A universal or “all-inclusive” design allows more than one generation to live independently, but together.

In the previous post, we talked about interior features. But what might the exterior features for a multigenerational home include? Take a look at this video we shot no long ago. This is an accessible small acreage property (just 5 acres) but it has a "runway" and lots of places for hobbies and gardening everyone in the family can enjoy.

It’s exciting to take the lead in conversations  that envision linking the generations and building sustainable excellence across all ages. Talk to us about this potential for you and your family in Asheville.

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

This is really harking back to an earlier model...that nuclear family thing was the experiment.   Interesting!

We are seeing far less fascination with the multi-level houses on treachorous sides of mountains.  Buyers want to be sure that the children are safe and that the grandparents are comfortable.  Thank goodness, right?  Maybe the mountainsides won't get so chopped up now.  BTW, might be a transposed letter in your title ;-)

This is clearly becoming a more important issues, and more builders seem to be jumping on the bandwagon. We have a ways to go, though, don't you think?

I think the focus on the outside will become more important, too. Neat video

I agree with you, multigenerational housing is becoming popular again and while the economy plays a factor in some peoples decisions, it is not the most important factor. We are incorporating these themes in our subdivision at Summerhouse on Everett Bay.
