Do any of you feel abandoned by what was once an independent platform?
When I read the stories last week about Zillow acquiring Trulia, I thought, "Surely not. Surely there is some sort of anti-trust violation here." But, Trulia confirmed that the acquisition is for real.
For now, it’s business as usual at Trulia. Our focus and commitment to connecting you with consumers and helping you close more transactions remains the top priority of our entire team.
Regards,
Pete Flint
Trulia CEO
I hated it when Market Leader (Active Rain) sold out to Trulia. Now, Trulia is selling out. I feel betrayed. I am not reassured by "For now, it's business as usual at Trulia." Not reassured at all!
We cannot even turn to Realtor.com, now controlled by Move. Last week, there were also rumors that Trulia was looking at acquiring Move. That may be on hold, for now...
I have always hated the centralization of data that our industry is seeing.
Now, I fear for our future. How stupid are we to ignore what happened to the travel industry? I know that Realtors® certainly provide a higher level of service than travel agents, but I do feel that the model holds true on many levels.
