Webb City, Missouri is a small community of just over 11,000 people. The Farmer's Market is one of many treasures this community offers. Part of my Saturday morning routine is standing under a pavilion at the entrance of Webb City's King Jack Park, anxiously waiting for the bell to ring signaling the "Market is Open".
After enjoying a breakfast prepared by a local non-profit group, it's down the pavilion to shop for fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, and honey. Other items frequently offered are locally raised meat, kettle corn, herbs, vanilla, baked goods, milk and a variety of handcrafted items
The Webb City Farmer's Market is a producers only market. In additional to supporting the local farmers, shoppers chat with the people that are providing their fresh produce, milk, eggs and locally raised meats.
Soon after the Farmers Market opens, the pavilion is filled with shoppers. People of all ages and demographics strolling down the aisles, shopping and chatting. Playing in the background is an upbeat tune by one of the areas local talents.
The Webb City Farmer's Market is open on Tuesdays (4 pm - 6pm). Fridays (11 am -2 pm) and Saturdays (9am to noon). Each market offers music and a meal.
