George.  Indeed.  Waterford is quite unique.  No commercial.

Of course when compared to the age of some European villages and towns, Waterford isn't very old.  But to U.S. standards, it's history.

Lenn, I think that Waterford, Virginia may be one of the prettiest little towns in the country.  I love to go to their annual crafts festival in the spring, and it's all I can do to keep myself from knocking on some of the doors to ask if I can please, please peek inside.

Very interesting looking place, interesting to hear no commercial, do you mean no shops as well?

Roger.  Indeed.  It's in all "historical sites" categories.

Pat.  I have been known to make appts to visit homes for sale.  Most are accomodating.  I don't pretend to have a buyer, just previewing.

Nick and Trudy.  Absolutely.  There are no shops.  There is a U.S. Post Office, but no shops or stores.

Hi Lenn - Many years ago, I spent an afternoon in Waterford, and it was very charming and interesting. I remember we had dinner at a very nice, and very expensive, restaurant as well - it was in an old house, filled with antiques.

What a wonderful looking community.  Not so much a market report as just a great bunch of information on this community.

Lenn- I know I mentioned this to you before but Larry looked at a house on the street that you showed in your photo. This was before we bought in River Creek.  Do they still have the Waterford Fair???

Dick.  Could it have been the Fugosa????

Kathleen.  That is a good description.

Gene.  Always time for market stats.  The town is more interesting.

Lou.  That's one of the reasons I love it.

Kathy.  I can't recall a "fair", but there is a huge celebration on July 4th.

Sharon.  Virginia is quite diverse with old, new and historical together.  Mostly rural throughout the state.

Roy.  My goodness.  It's been done many times.

Jeff.  Old historical towns all have many similarities.

Hi Lenn, I give a lot of credit to the historians and preservationists to keep our country's history and heritage alive. These small towns and their historical significance  really do so much to make our lives more worthwhile. When I was in RI, their historical homes gave me a feeling that I belonged there. The colors of black, burgandy, hunter green surprised me a little  but they looked awesome. Those colors seemed right  for the time. Of course when I ran across a white one with columns , my heart fluttered a bit imagining that I owned it.
