31st Annual National Night Out (NNO) Against Crime campaign
This is an update on the National Night Out Against Crime campaign events in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Kentlands has been added to the list. Kentlands residents should note the time and date for the ice cream social and a learning experience for the entire family. August 5, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kentlands Clubhouse.
"Five neighborhoods in the City of Gaithersburg are joining with more than 16,000 communities across the country to participate in the 31st Annual National Night Out (NNO) Against Crime campaign.
On Tuesday, August 5 from 6 to 9 p.m., participating neighborhoods will hold events to increase drug prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, encourage residents to be involved in their communities, and send a message that neighborhoods and businesses are organized to fight back against crime. The NNO programs help bring together residents, law enforcement agencies, local officials, civic groups, and neighborhood organizations.
Participating neighborhoods include:
Saybrooke (6 – 9 p.m.) – Cookout at the Community Pool, 702 Saybrooke Oaks Blvd.
Quince Orchard Park (7 – 9 p.m.) – Outdoor picnic and demonstrations at the Community Center, 500 Highland Ridge Rd.
Brighton Village Apartments (6 – 9 p.m.) – Event at the Community Pool,345 West Side Dr.
Kentlands (6 – 9 p.m.) – Ice Cream social at Kentlands Community Center, 485 Tschiffely Square Rd.
Child Identity Kits will be distributed for home use, along with informational brochures.
Montgomery Meadows will also be participating in National Night Out by having residents turn on their porch lights to show community support for deterring crime and maintaining a safe neighborhood." - City of Gaithersburg
