I remember as a child going to the drive in movies with my family. We had 7 kids so it was not practical to attend a cinema because of the costs for the tickets and snacks. So we took full advantage of the local drive in and we loved it! I have some great memories laying on a blanket in the cool air with the speaker attached to the car window! In between the movies we would go down front and play on the playground equipment. Too fun! So for today’s Movie Monday with DCRG, I wanted to showcase the Aurora drive in. Happy Tuesday! We are in the last week of July and it’s hard to believe that summer is passing so quickly. I wanted to share a friend’s yummy Strawberry Pie recipe because we are in perfect weather to enjoy this summer treat.

Start your back-to-school shopping with a game plan. Even if your child’s teacher hasn’t provided a list of school supplies, you can’t go wrong by sticking with the basics and taking advantage of back-to-school sales. Here’s how:
Make a list and get your child involved.
Use the recommended or required supplies from your child’s school or teacher as a starting point. If you don’t have a list yet, check with parents at your school who have older kids. They might have good advice about what is required in your child’s grade. Sit down with your child and go over your list together. You’ll be teaching them how to get organized, a skill that applies to more than shopping.

Summer’s Biggest Party is scheduled for July 24 through August 2. For 78 years, the Ozark Empire Fair has been a time for community celebration, and 2014 promises to carry on the tradition. With opening day slated for Thursday, July 24, the ten day run of the Ozark Empire Fair is packed full of FREE thrilling entertainment ranging from musical performers, to fast racing pigs – yes, pigs, to high flying frisbee dogs and a doggy dock diving show.
