This is the House we are Going to Buy!

By
Real Estate Agent with Crown Key Realty

I showed property on Thursday to some buyers from out of state. The husband has been transferred and thus the move needs to be completed as soon as possible. With them was there 15 year old son, who seemed at best mildly interested in the process. He spent most of the day under headphones and with an I Pad mini entertaining him.

We went into one house that was very representative of the properties we had looked at all day. As we looked upstairs the son stayed downstairs. Suddenly he came bounding up the steps proclaiming loudly and excitedly "mom, this is the house we're buying".. His excitement was amazing. He turned and bounded back down the steps as we followed. He shoved the garage door open and practically yelled, "when we move in that's mine!"

As we looked into the garage there was a 1969 SS 396 Camero. It was cherry red and as far as I could see immaculate. It was beautiful. He proclaimed again, that when they move in that it would be his.

With the parents nodding approval I explained that while the house was nearly empty, anything still in the house or garage was the property of the owner and the car would likely be gone if they were to purchase the home.

Whether you are 15 or 50 sometimes reality bites.

My name is Dale E. Bledsoe with Crown Key Realty and as always I may be reached at 209-481-6031.

Everything is negotiable, right?    I've seen a lot of awesome cars in garages of homes.  This Camara is definitely at the top of the list!

At least he came out from under his headphones long enough to express interest in something!

Dale - It never hurts to ask!  I have shown those homes where some Detroit or import muscle has stolen the show from the home, but it is always nice to look at.

Dale: Great story. While I have not had that particluar experience, I had similar ones and the disappointed party is usually the adults.

My parents bought their last home when I was eight years old. I begged for that house because the seller told me the little dog would come with it. I believed her, and I was so disappointed on moving day when there was no dog to be found.

Dale, I am sure he was rooting hard for his parents to buy the house if he thought he was going to get that classic Camero.  Was that the Indy Pace Car year?

I can see why he was so excited.   At times these types of cars are worth more than a home.   (husband was an owner of this car in 1969)

He now has a 68 and a 69 to restore.  An expensive hobby.  He should have kept the one he had.

Well at least the Camaro sighting got him away from his headphones and iPad.

Think I would buy the house if the car was included. I was 18 for that model year. Remember when they were in the showroom.

For the right offer, the Camaro can be part of the deal.

For some agents, the Camaro would be preferable to their commission check.

We make it easy. You make it home.

Ha ha ha. Funny post. Even some older buyers might think the car came with the house. I had an agent mention something about a mustang in the garage of one of my listings---no, personal property is not included in the sale of a home.
