One of the largest PUD however one of the poorest in planning when it comes to road. If you live in Poinciana, you know that its best to avoid rush hour. You might think that you are in New York traveling on the roads - no, NY is better at least you have an alternate route to travel. If you get stuck behind an accident there are not many options open to you.
However, if you are on Pleasant Hill, you might have to turn back and head towards Poinciana Blvd and hope there is not an accident there as well. Or you might have to go all the way to Haines City....some resident are not familiar with Haines City but that are the only other alternatives in this area.
Finally, new roads are expected in the area within the next five years or so. Hopefully this will happen before the proposed new hospital comes underway.
Poinciana was expected to get a highway connection but this project was delayed. With all the new commercial growth in the area, this community is desperately in need of all the roads that they can get.
Despite all this fact, people are still moving into Poinciana at a rapid pace.
