Customer Service Is Not Dead!!

I read on here the other day about a bad customer service experience so I wanted to share a great experience I had.

This summer I decided I wanted a "to go" tripod for my camera.   I asked some folks on one of the FB pages I am a part of and it was recommended to get a Gorillapod by Joby. 

I bought one.  It is a pretty cool gizmo--attaching to trees etc.  Unfortunately, I didn't know what I was buying.  I bought the one that was for video cameras because I was going to do some video.  I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted it to.

It had this arm on it that broke off and I couldn't keep the attachment stabilized to hold the camera.  

So, I decided to let them know about this.  I took a little video with my cell phone and sent it to them explaining my problem--never really expecting to hear from them.


The next morning I got an email from the company.  They explained that the tri-pod I got was for video taping using the swivel head and the arm to move the camera around.  They explained that I should have gotten the one with the stationary head.  

I thought probably that was the end of it.  Nope.  They told me that the arm shouldn''t have broken off that easily and they would replace it--with the one I should have gotten in the first place.  :-)  So far so good.  I emailed back and told them I was very happy and asked how I get the old one to them.  I got it on so I am thinking the process is going to be a nightmare.

Email to me.  Told me to just keep the old one and they would just send me the one new one.  :-)

Well, this time when I emailed back I was so estatic that I told them how awesome they are and that I was going to share everything on my FB page.

I got yet another return email.  They said that I was so appreciative they were going to send me the UPGRADE.  Geez.  Does that every happen?

So I am highly recommending them.  If you want a great trip-pod and even better customer service, buy a Gorrilapod!  They have them for every kind of camera--GoPro and even for your cell phone!  

Tell them I sent you!

That's really awesome and a great way to handle customer service. I just went through a miserable experience with a post card company.  I thought, all they had to do was fix my account login and toss me a code for a discount to have kept me from ordering somewhere else, which is what I did.
