T (WAAAAY) BT
As some of you may have seen from earlier blogs, I moved last year. Last week, I decided to claim one of the rooms that had turned into an "I'll get to this stuff later" storage space. Here are some gems from my efforts.
These two handsome gentlemen are my grandfathers from my Father's and my Mother's side respectively during WW I. I know Grandpa McCormick (the first one) made it all the way to Washington, D.C. during the war. I'm not sure where Grandpa Moore served.
Grandpa McCormick Grandpa Moore
This is, after all, a real estate area. These two images are from a Warranty Deed executed by my Great Great (I think) Grandfather, Adam McCormick. As far as I can tell, there were three or four gentlemen who spent their time buying and selling pieces of land to one another between the early 1860's and 1900's. I selected this one since it was dated November 20 (my birth date). If you can't read the rest of the date, it says 1863.
The second image is a portion of the details of the Warranty Deed. We talk about tax stamps in real estate; that dark area near the bottom of the image is a tax stamp (I think).
Here's a close-up:
Happy Thursday, everyone!
