RAIN POWER...you're profile is as good as gold

Mortgage and Lending with Bank of England Mortgage 385907

Maybe it's better

So, I went to a meetup hosted by Kevin Tolbert of Keller Williams the other day, at PABBQ in Port St Lucie, and I got revigorated in regards to Active Rain.

The same day I wrote two articles, and posted them for the first time in a little under a year.

So what happened, you may be wondering?

Well, first of all, one of the postings "let it rain" was featured, and thank you very much for that, but something else happened that was very interesting.

Let me start with a question.

When was the last time you googled yourself?

don't you want to see what everyone else, including your clients (or perspective clients) see ,when they google your name?

do you want to know what happened when I googled "Jay Beckingham?"

I know you're just dieing to find out.

Well right there on the top of the list was

my Active Rain profile.

it had jumped Linkedin, it had jumped facebook, as a matter of fact it had jumped everything else, that had attached itself to my name.

in one day?

google has been carrying on a love affair with Active Rain for as long as I can remember

the Rain pours google juice.

Beware now!

I have to ask, what does your profile look like? is it up to date?

because if you are active on the rain I don't think you can stop this from happening

so, if your profile is not up to snuff, well that's your calling card anyway, whether you like it or not.

luckily for me, someone had added a new feature, since I had last been on the Rain, and let me say, sincerely I may add

thank you, thank you, thank you

what feature? well the one that pops up and says

"your profile is incomplete", and then offers a guided tour to cure that situation

I took the tour, and I'm glad I did

and I have a suggestion for all the Rainers

you should too.

this active rain profile is an incredibly strong tool, it is one of your major calling cards, show it some respect. If you treat it right it will return the favor, because I'm not kidding you. If you use it right

Your profile is as good as GOLD!

I agree. Every time when you create a profile( regardless of network), you have to spend time creating a good page. It is like your business card, your online presentation.

thanks, hope I've help you somewhat.

I've had a beard for the last 6 months, I'm thinking of a photo change myself

there's an easy way to end that stress

I'm always trying to learn how to use the systems better.

in total, to a degree, it is your marketing.

I spend some time checking out other Rainers profiles to see what I like, and don't like. Also, it's a great chance to get to know everyone, at least a little bit

I love the work I do. I have flourished as an originator for over 30 years.

once a month, at least i google myself to see what's out here about me.

you're welcome.

checking always gives me the chance to do a little tweeking, if necessary.

if I feel that a system can be helpful to my marketing, then i want the profile to present me in the most positive light (to the world)

thanks everyone,

I had not done that in a while. I do check my key words, but haven't done my own name in quite some time. Great to see how my name comes up!!

was your AR profile at the top?

Amanda & Jared,

absolutely, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression.

so it's a good idea to make it look the best it can, would you agree?

you're welcome, maybe AR could have a contest for best profile, and then we could all see what the powers that be, feel most powers the search engines, and warms the hearts of our clients

thank you and you're welcome...good to be back

you're welcome, i hope you can easily find yourself

the rain power is incredible, always has been, or so it seems

content is important, many (potential) clients are trying to get a feel for who you are. it often influences their decision to go forward with you, or not.

thanks everyone,

and you just wrote this post so you'd add to your google juice?

sly fox.

I just checked myself, and AR is #6.  Fortunately, it's not like I've got a very common name. There's the realtor in Washington DC, and then there are 2 college professors, one at University of Montreal and one at McGill.  At least, I've got all but 2 listings on the first page of google.

Lets see if my being more active in AR helps move that up a bit.

Jay, I hadn't noticed this.  Thanks for the heads up!  My profile is ok.  What bothers me is that there is no way to paragraph testimonials.  I have tried and it appears to be behind the scenes, but when I click save it's back to one big paragraph.  Drives me crazy.  Congrats on the feature!

thanks, everyone

more on the system; i apologize for not responding sooner, but the AR communications are sometimes, but not always, put into different categories on my email account.
