During my real estate career I must admit that I have sorta been forced into things by a forceful daughter. Way back in the early 1990's she made this statement, "Mom, you need a computer."
"What's a computer?" was my probable reply. She conveniently left hers with me while she wasn't using it and I played around on it and fell in love. 1993 sticks in my mind because that's when I bought my very own computer.....a little laptop that didn't take up much room in my tiny office. I was able to type all my clients in and let them all know that I was moving to RE/MAX and that I wanted to continue having their trust.
Several computers later, I was still in the real estate business and thanked the forceful daughter for her pushy ways.
Then in about 2007, she says, "Mom, you need to do a blog." Say again? A blog? What's a blog?
But I tried it out. The first blog I did was about her and her wiliness.
It seems impossible today to think that I have been on activerain since 2007! And it has been good for me. I evolved into a sort-of historic blogger about our little town of Searcy. And of course, she pointed out that I could share the blog on facebook (Well, yes, she pushed facebook on me too) and when I do that the number of folks who click on the blog climbs high in just a little while. One of the newspapers, Arkansas Business, even wrote a little article about me and titled it, "Would you like a little history with that?"
And around 2011 the forceful daughter came back to Searcy and has learned the real estate business. She is not just a daughter but also an associate and we can be called a team.
But the buck stops right here! We were at a charitable auction last night and SHE BOUGHT A DRONE!
She says that is the way things are going. She will use it to take pictures of houses, etc., etc. I screamed, covered my ears and ran away!
NO! NO! I will not be using a drone!!!!!!!!!!!!
