Thrifty Decor Idea Of The Week #3

Thrift stores have lamps all the time, most for $6 or less.  You can spray paint them, or decoupage them - the internet is full of ideas to fix-up a lamp.  So I was in a thrift store the other day and found a wonderful (and HEAVY) high quality brass Asian-style lamp.  Of course, the brass was slightly damaged in a few places and the shade was hideous.....but it had wonderful potential, so I bought it for $4.  I found these instructions on a wonderful blog called Oak Ridge Revival (and, believe me, MY lamp looks just like this!) so I followed the instructions and the lamp looks so fabulous!  For $4 plus the cost of a new shade and some Rub & Buff.  Follow along here:
