Here the feeder is getting low.

Now I have two birds at the feeder...very  rare.

This little guy hung out until I took the feeder down and refilled it. They do not seem to be afraid of me or the hunger is a stronger emotion than fear.

Hi Tom,

They have drank 1/2 of the batch in the last couple of days. I only fill it 1/2 way as it evaporates and can go bad.

They make a lot of noise buzzing around the yard and I can hear it. Since I have taken on the responsibility to feed them, I am in tune to there calls and I hear them buzzing..

Yes and once in a while I have three at the feeder but one is always trying to chase the other two off. Sometimes 3's do not get along.

The reason I got into photography was due to William Johnson . He has the most fantastic hummingbird photos so I had to step up to a better camera. I am sure glad I did as it has been several years of added joy.

Hi Kristin, thank you for the mention. One of the real joys I have with ActiveRain is to be in some small way an inspiration or perhaps catalyst is better word. I look at it this way, if I can do it, we all can do it. There is a small learning and experience curve but the benefit is a life time of images that capture the imagination and are in themselves the captured beauty of life itself. Having a place to share them in an active network and receiving feedback keeps us enthusiastic  in hopes of that one in a million image. Seeing life through a lens totally " sharpens" the experience.

I found my  love of nature when I started traveling a lot and Alaska opened my eyes several times. But I used to have a nice camera but not the quality I needed for taking hummingbird and other moving critters. I get such a kick out of taking pictures and going home and downloading them.

I bought it at Lowes. Recently saw it at a small nursery and they were charging $5 more so be sure buy it at a big box store.
