Bass Fishermen Arrive From All over Canada and U.S. for the Mitchell's Bay Bass Tournament Aug 16-17/2014

I always refer to Mitchell's Bay on the shores of Lake St. Clair as ' The Best Kept Secret in Southwestern Ontario' I cannot tell you how many clients I have taken to this wonderful little Lake Side Village who commented `I did not know this existed' This tells me there are  not enough people reading my blogs about resort locations in Chatham-Kent. I better do some more work! The Sunsets over the Lake are amazing! There is a beach for swimming with a playground and a Splash Pad. This was well used this past weekend with the beautiful summer weather. There is also a Picnic Grounds for Family gatherings and it looked like someone was having their family reunion yesterday under the wooden canopy with their barbeques smoking and the auroma of good food wafting into the area.

There are gorgeous lake homes in Dover Shores and on Hingle Pt., lovely Townhouses facing the lake, beach and beautiful evening sunsets, cottages for vacationers and yearly visitors, a Campground and a Marina.

Mitchell's bay is well known for its swimming, boating, fishing and windsurfing in the summer, duck hunting in the fall and ice fishing. snowmobiling and skating in the winter when the lake freezes.

Bass Fishermen know about Mitchell's Bay! I was at the Marina yesterday and the Bass Fishermen and their boats were arriving in droves for the upcoming Bass Tournament being held next weekend August 15-16. Parking was at a premium at the Marina and the array of boats was amazing.
Over 120 boats will be accepted into this well known event. Entry fee is $550 with a prize board that has recently been raised to $60,000. Call the Mitchell`s Bay Marina 519-354-8423 for more details.  All those who receive a Registration package will receive information on accomodations and fine dining in the area, local tourist attractions, maps and a 5 day Launching Pass at the Mitchell's Bay Marina commenicng Wednesday August 13th 2014. There is usually a $100.00 late registration fee but that is waived and being absorbed by the Marina so it's not too late to participate.

I am told that these serious fishermen arrive early to scout out the lake. The water is up and they want to know the hot spots, mark them and be prepared to return there on Tournament Day to win some of the Amazing Prize money. Our own Chatham-Kent`s weather specialist, John Wilson predicts sunny warm weather for the tournament days.Take a ride out and experience this Spectacular Event even if you are not a Fisherman. Mitchell`s Bay is just 15 minutes from Chatham and well worth the drive. You will fall in love with this wonderful lake side Village!
