Real Estate blogging - what focus is important?

By
Real Estate Agent

Primary focus for me - I have a strong desire to share the latest in real estate market trends and activity for my focus area in the northwestern part of Fairfield County, Connecticut. And, where possible, provide timely market information and trends from around the United States via real estate video news and monthly newsletters that I provide to my prospects, customers, and clients.

Being new to blogging brings a challenge that takes me out of my comfort area and moves me "outside the box" to share my experiences and approach to marketing, servicing my clients, and to managing referrals.

Finding the best approach to pass on the information buyers and sellers are expecting and appreciating from real estate professionals is an on-going learning process. Thankfully I've been involved with the Internet and Websites since 2000 and have over 100 active Websites of various industry focuses and interests. On those sites I've taken effort to publicize real estate and direct visitors to multiple real estate specific Web sites that I operate.

Lastly, I am increasing the time I am able to spend reviewing numerous real estate focused Websites and blogs to expand my awareness of others in the industry, and to begin focusing on those real estate professionals who I feel comfortable sending referral business to. Because of the nature of the numerous Websites I maintain, I am receiving visitors and inquiries for many areas of the country that I do not directly support and would prefer to have a select group of real estate professionals to quickly draw from to connect my visitor/prospect with.

The question I have is with 100 websites do you feel that the laser needed focus to when in the goggle driven world can occur. I keep hearing drive the traffic to you it seems that with a 100 roads leading in it would seem confusing

Thanks for the feedback/question Eric. Good point - it's not a perfect approach but does accommulate traffic for me (in particular to my http://michaelconkey.remax.com site). As folks may arrive at one of my sites for a completely different reason (subject matter interest; non-real estate), there appears to be an interest in learning more about real estate and they click on those links. Since I don't have time to make fancy sites, collectively my sites appear to be an approach that helps drive traffic and definitely increases spider traffic (with/without AdWords and/or Yahoo Marketing programs active). With spider traffic comes more traffic to all of my sites. NOTE: My site traffic is minor compared to most sites but the collective traffic shows promise given my limited time & resources to add depth to them. Depth in a topic is key, I know that, and that's where I am turning more effort to my real estate related sites (and things like my attempts here at blogging).
