One Thing You're Not Doing Right on ActiveRain - Call To Action Button!

The One Thing You're Not Doing Right on ActiveRain....

ActiveRain is a great community, and the platform can help you get calls and leads for your real estate business, but there is a feature available to you that you don't even know exists.

I've seen only a small portion of the ActiveRain members catch on to this little feature, but it could actually get you buyers, sellers or other leads for your business if you implement it right. So what is it?

Its a button. That's right, a button. ActiveRain calls it the "Call To Action" button. This button can be placed on your blog page and your profile page. But this button has to be set up to work, and many on AR don't even realize its an option. In fact, if you're "Call To Action" button isn't set up, that button won't even be there. Try going to various accounts on ActiveRain. You'll see the button just isn't there (see the pics below) on many accounts.

I literally stumbled on the "Call To Action" button by accident. One day I noticed someone else's blog had this cool button, but I didn't! I went absolutely mad for about two hours trying to figure out why I didn't have one! Seriously, I almost lost my mind.....

This "Call to Action" button can be a "Home Search" button or a "My Services" button or a few other different options to fit your business and profile. We have our "Call To Action" button as a "Home Search" button, and it goes straight to our website when its clicked on.

Here's how it looks on our blog:

Here's how it looks without the Call To Action button:

So any time someone goes to any of our blogs on ActiveRain, or to our AR profile, that "Call To Action" button shows up. That means a TON of opportunities to get click-throughs to our website! And click-throughs can turn into leads!

Do you want to know how to do it? Of course you do! Here's how:

Step One: Click on the "My Home" link at the top-left of your ActiveRain page. It should be there no matter where you are in ActiveRain, as long as you're logged into your account.

Step Two: Click on the (Edit) that's right next to your "My Profile" link. You can find it below your profile pic and your points tally.

Step Three: Click on the "Call To Action" button while in your Profile Editing Mode. It looks like this:

From there, a small window will pop up titled: "Call To Action Button". Here you can choose what you want the button to be called, and where you want it to click through to. Click Save, and you're done!

See, wasn't that easy!

Now, whenever someone goes to your blog or profile, they can click on that button and be directed to where ever you want them to go, and you can get more business!

Thanks for the information and especially for including the screen shots. I just signed on as a Rainmaker last week and someone asked me if I had set up my "Call to Action" and I thought it just meant the signaure at the end of the blog. Today I received a little notice on my site telling me I hadn't set this up and fortunately, it led me to your post when I asked for more info.

By the way, how did you put those screen shots in your post?

I think I stumbled upon this when I was setting up my profile ... just joined ActiveRain yesterday ... and I'm excited to see how investing my time wisely in getting set up will help my business.  I want to learn so much, and appreciate that this site is all about the win-win ... each one reach one ... and to succeed, we help others to do the same!  Love this!

Are you kidding me ???!!!

I never knew.  And so...duh, of course mine's not set up.

It's past 1am, and my eyes can hardly see and I shouldn't attempt even mindless technology now.

But I will and I'll check back with you on Wednesday to tell you it's done.

Thank you so much !!! (and let me tell you, I'm not the type to use exclamation points)

Gosh, all you had to do was call & I would have told you. Must have missed that when you did the profile switch over during the 'big upgrade'. I'm sure alot of people did!

Okay, I've come back. It's done.  It hadn't been done before, but now I feel fresh, whole & complete.

Thank you so much for brining this to our attention.

I knew we had "call to action" button, but I haven't given it enough thought. I don't have a website, which is a whole other issue and one I'm working on!

I need to get to work!

At first I didn't think I had it, but after checking on my profile, I see that I already set up my "call to action" button. Thanks for sharing.

That's really easy, except I can't find the "option" I want in the drop down menu. They need to offer a blank that we can fill in ourselves!

Great tutorial, but it looks like the ability to edit call to action buttons has been removed.  Please correct me if I am wrong because I really want to be wrong so that I can add them.   I have contacted support and will update based on what they tell me.
