Lake of the Pines is a gated community located in the Sierra Foothills, just 2.7 miles from Grass Valley, CA. Lake of the Pines offers many lakes, and amenities in a stunning setting. With an elevation of 1500 feet, Lake of the Pines sits below the snow line while still maintaining the ambient foothill temperatures so many people enjoy. Located within Lake of the Pines there is 19-hole golf course, 7 parks, community pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, sports lounge, and recreation department. There are 3 lakes: the Main lake, Hazel lake, and Huck Finn pond. Technically these are not lakes but are reservoirs created by damming Magnolia Creek located in the Bear River watershed. The water is an ambient 75 degrees and contains warm water fish. As one of the many benefits of living in the Lake of the Pines community the recreation department offers many clubs and lessons throughout the year. What is the Neighborhood like?

 

The homes in Lake of the Pines vary in size from 1200 sq. feet to 4800 sq. feet. Homes vary in style; age of the homes range from 1968 to 2010. Roughly 15% of the homes have lake front views and access. Many others are located on the golf course.  There are still waterfront lots available to build on, albeit not too many remain. If you would like to build a home in Lake of the Pines lots are still available.

 

 

What is going on Nearby Lake of the Pines?

 

For great Tahoe skiing Lake of the Pines is a short 1 ½ hour drive to Squaw Valley, about 2 hours from San Francisco, and roughly 45 minutes to Roseville. Lake of the Pines is in a location near shopping, restaurants and the prestigious Dark Horse golf course community.

 

 

What Schools will the kids attend?

 

Pleasant Ridge school district services the Lake of the Pines community. All the schools in this district are Distinguished Schools recognized by the state of California. Each school emphasizes academics and offers advanced studies for their students. Cottage Hill is for grades k-5. Magnolia, founded in 1975 is the intermediate school. Magnolia has a student population of roughly 550 students. Bear River High school has recently built a state of the art aquatic center and performance center. Thank you!! It is one of those "gems" in our area. The lake is great in the summer to have birthday parties for the kids. Hmmm maybe I should have mentioned that in my blog? :)
