ESPN, Bristol CT

In September 1979, the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) launched television’s first daily sports news program, “SportsCenter” in Bristol CT.

Today ESPN has a reputation as a first-rate corporate citizen in Bristol. ESPN is by far the Bristol CT largest employer and taxpayer. ESPN has also been a significant donor, underwriting the Boys and Girls Club in Bristol, donating to the hospital and children’s museum, and sending out employee volunteers to build a baseball diamond for a low-income housing complex, all with little fanfare.

Why do people live here?

Bristol is a suburban city located in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States, 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Hartford. Bristol is primarily known as the home of ESPN, whose central studios are in the city. Bristol is also home to Lake Compounce, America's oldest still-functioning theme park.

Bristol was ranked in the top 100 on Money Magazine's "Best Places to Live". In 2013, Hartford Magazine ranked Bristol as Greater Hartford's top municipality in the "Best Bang for the Buck" category.

Stacy, Bristol, CT is still an affordable town to live in even with their large work force looking to purchase homes close to work.  Bristol has a lot going for it, and anyone looking to purchase a home would be wise to consider Bristol as one of the CT towns to purchase in.

Nice job with your Post. ESPN has certainly had an impact of the local real estate market. Nice job putting your report together, you sure do know the market very well.
