Back to School - Red Feather and Livermore Colorado

By
Real Estate Agent with United Country Ponderosa Realty, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

It's almost time for the kids to head back to school in Red Feather and Livermore Colorado.

Whether you always loved going to school, (like I did) or your mom had to threaten to hold your hand and escort you to every single class to be sure you attended (like my brother) .... good or bad, everyone has memories of going back to school.

Luckily, I always loved school.

After a long summer of swimming, riding bikes, reading many books, playing and getting eaten alive by mosquitos- I was always ready to go back.  New clothes, school supplies, new friends and old friends, new teachers (some not so great- but most were terrific) and expectations for the “best year ever” created so much excitement for the first day of school.

Well, that level of excitement soon mellowed after settling into the routine, but with the exception of a few classes, I did love going to school.

Ponderosa Realty along with the Western Ridge Resort asked for donations for school supplies this year to help our local school kids. When I see the donations piling up, I am reminded of how exciting it was to start a new year.

Our Poudre Valley School District serves 27,000 students and includes 50 schools in Northern Colorado.

We have 2 area elementary schools:  Livermore Elementary “The LittleSchool on the Prairie” and Red Feather Lakes Elementary--- both received 5/5 stars in Community ratings!

Red Feather Lakes Elementary is the first Project Learning Tree Certified School in the State of Colorado, and features a small student/teacher ratio and daily preschool.

Many of our Middle School and High School kids attend Cache La Poudre Middle School,  an International Baccalaureate World School and Poudre High School – “ home to the International Baccalaureate Program, the Newcomer Academy, the PaCE program, and the Communication Academy, as well as numerous school-sponsored and student-initiated clubs and extra-curricular activities”.

School IS Cool – HAVE A GREAT SCHOOL YEAR EVERYONE!

There's nothing like the smell of a new pencil box. LOL. I'm joking. I never did like school. It was too much of the same old, same old routine for me.

I think it's great you did a back to school drive. Awesome job, and you deserve a gold star for that.

Mary, wishing all the kids a safe and happy return to school in the Red Feather Lakes area!  Hope your drivers will slow down and make sure they stop when the buses do!  Sounds like you have some top notch schools in your area!

Mary, wouldn't it be fun to drop in and monitor some US History classes??? ^_~

Thanks Rob, it is hard to believe its that time of year again- -seems too early. For the first week or so the kids get out a couple hours early, I guess it's easier to get back in the groove that way :-)

Hi Debbie, the smell of  a new pencil box? LOL- you are funny. The school supply drive was great, we have generous and caring people in our communities!  A gold star- YAY, I haven't gotten one of those in at least 50 years,  Thanks Debbie!!

Hi Bruce, I hope the drivers will be on the look out for the buses and stop too! Thank you, we do have great public schools and some very good charter schools, also. I think the "US History Class ship" has sailed Bruce...I'll  never catch up after missing so much from "illness"   LOL

Say, Mary do you still have to wear your blizzard goggles in August with all that snow?  Must be terrible glare for those poor bus drivers!!!   ^_~

Mary, if you are short handed on bus photos I can send you a picture of one of our school buses passing a corn field, or a bus next to some hogs wollering in a mud hole.  Your choice!
