How to Write More Creatively.

Step 1:  Read blogs and watch movies that are outside of your industry.

Step 2:  Start writing before developing a title.

Step 3:  Have a brain storming session with sales colleages in other industries.

Step 4:  Write from a room where you don't normally work.

Step 5:  Read ideas on how to become creative.

This morning I was catching up on my Facebook and as usual, look for the inspirational material.  I came across an Inc Magazine and read an article on the subject I'm writing. Not having blogged recently, but having attended two meet-ups, I felt the sudden urge to write.

So why write after taking an extended AR vacation?  First, I learned many of the bloggers I met with over the last two weeks are also behind on blogging so it seemed funny to be at a blogging meet-up.  Second, I have been wordless for months so I feel refreshed.  Third, I find writing a creative outlet so when I read the Inc Magazine article I felt like writing again.  Fourth, I am going to quit writing on real estate for awhile because I just want to get back into writing and sometimes I feel stuck when I'm focused on real estate.

So now it's time to go write a blog, even if you're one of those people who are just readers, not writers, because I'm sure you have something interesting or constructive to share too.

Hi Cathy! I found #4 to be interesting...write in a room where you don't normally write. How about in a location you don't normally write, like at the pool side? I might have to try that!

Donna, funny you said that. I live in a live-eat-play area and spend time at weird places to do property research and to write. I'm thinking being poolside to negotiate is a good idea too, keeps me more relaxed.

I like it!  Seems like if we step out of our comfort zone a bit, it just might fuel our creativity.  :)
