For those of you liking a more serene, private, out-of-the-way lifestyle, consider Rio Rico, in Southern Arizona. About 70 miles south of Tucson, this area has homes dotting the ridge tops and enjoying 360 views all around.
At 3500 feet in elevation, you'll find this town of almost 18000 residents a scenic haven with moderate year-round climate.
Situated close to Nogales, this community makes traveling to nearby Mexico an easy excursion. Nearby, enjoy attractions such as the Tumacacori National Monument, Tubac Presidio, Calabasas Mission Ruins, Anza trail, Aliso Springs, Salero Mine, and the Santa Rita Hacienda.
Ghost towns, such as Fort Crittendon, Washington Camp, and Duquesne are a short trip away. Patagonia Lake, Madera Canyon, Coronado National Forest and Mt. Wrightson are convenient as well.
For some of the best bird watching, star gazing, and golfing in Arizona, Rio Rico might just be worth a second look!
