"Be smart. Be intelligent. Be informed."
-Author unknown
I was going to use the quote "Be informed, instead of opinionated" but that seemed a little too political for the current state of emotions in this country.
Anyway, do you ever draw a blank about what to write about in your blog? I guess we all do. Periodically, I try to put up a post that can jumpstart your thinking process for blog posts.
Many years ago, in my Brokerage Management textbook, there was a discussion exercise at the end of each chapter. In light of all the publicity the housing market gets, I found these questions to be great fodder for blog posts. Real estate is local and writing about the current local impact on events (locally and nationwide) can be excellent starting points for blog articles. Here are a few samples to jump start YOUR thinking:
"What is your assessment of the current housing market in your area?"
" What do you expect to be different during the next few years?"
"What has changed about the demographic profile of your consumers in recent years?"
"What do you expect in the future?"
"What economic, political and social changes in your area have affected the real estate business?"
"What conditions in the business enrionment, in your area, impact other businesses more than they impact real estate companies?"
"What segments of the population (age, culture, etc) will have the greatest impact on the future workforce for your area?"
"What innovative services or business strategies not currently prevalent in your area do you think would work?"
Other blogging ideas:
* Go to your personal library of real estate books. You can choose any chapter and blog about your opinion on the subject. You can always blog about current market statistics, activity in specific neighborhoods, and random local news and events that are of universal interest.
Do you know what the additional benefit is of being able to answer these questions? You will be a great conversationalist and impress the bejeebers out of everyone when the subject of real estate comes up... and it always does!
Happy Blogging!
