When I come home from the office, I cut through an alley to get to my street, and I get to pass a gigantic tree with these amazing blossoms. Crepe Myrtle trees are all over Washington, DC - probably all over the mid-Atlantic and south. And every year I am amazed at the beauty and the variety of colors these trees come in.
Patricia-Crepe Myrtles are big down here too. Must be a hearty plant to thrive in so many different climates.
Patricia,
I'm also a fan of the Crepe Myrtles. They are so lovely to look at and make great backdrops for family pictures, MLS photos looks better when the Crepe Myrtles are blooming, and they look lovely down a tree-lined street. Also, they make me happy. Your post made me happy today too.

Good morning Pat. I too love these and am going to get some to border a saide lot. Beautiful.
We do not have them up here in New England but what a beautiful tree. That sure is a nice welcome to see on your way home. Have a great Monday

Very pretty Pat. Our garden flowers are peaking right now and regretfully it's reminding me that winter is not far off BUT I thank God for the beauty he has given us before the blanket of white to come.
I love crepe myrtles. I have 5 or 6 of them around my house. I have to cut them back every year, because they grow about 6 feet each year.
That's a very pretty photo. Beautiful flowers Patricia! Thanks for sharing :)
A walk home with a view - gorgeous. Thanks for sharing the photo with us Pat.

How can such a pretty place be so messed up? Your new camera is making Washington DC look so goood!
Pat, that alley has to be a pretty drive to your home. Such a beautiful tree.
Hello PATRICIA KENNEDY,
wow, that's just so good to look at :)
pretty flowers... thanks for sharing!
Pat - That's a shortcut worth taking! You wouldn't want to miss those showy blossoms.
Very pretty. I had a Crape Myrtle planted in my yard last summer. It has white blooms. This year, I only got one patch of blooms. As it turns out, I trimmed it at the wrong time of year.
Hi Pat ... so beautiful. Ours are finished blooming already. So enjoy the many colors. Have a great afternoon!
Hi Pat... That's beautiful! I wasn't aware of Crepe Myrtle trees. I've seen them in photos and in movies but being a Northwest guy, I didn't know their name.
The Crepe Myrtle is one of my favorite trees. Whether light pink, hot pink, purple, lavendar, white, or red -- I love them ALL!!
