Does a smoother mortgage process exist?


That is the one frustration I hear form every person I’ve ever known who has gotten a mortgage before in some form or fashion.


After hearing this concern over and over I decided it's time to do something about this. To create a smoother sailing process for everyone. So, during my pre-approval process, I give every client a detailed checklist that I've created. This begins preparing them for their mortgage application.


Why wait until the day you sign the contract to prepared?


I grew up on my dad’s saying, “success is what happens when preparedness meets opportunity”.  All of my clients begin digging out their old tax returns, calling the IRS for copies of their 1040's, getting those online pay-stubs from HR that they have never accessed before, and getting letters from their student loan companies about their monthly payment, just to mention a few, right after the pre-approval meeting.


When they start this process of the pre-approval stage, it is less stressful and more helpful in getting their loan closed quickly.


Make sure your clients are prepared as this will result in a successful and smoother sailing in the mortgage process. Do you have any tricks for smoother sailing in the mortgage process?

Great blog. I don't think consumers realize the amount of detail that is going to be requested.  They should start collecting it early!
