The Dog Beach at Larchmont Manor Park, 10538

Larchmont’s best kept secret!   The doggy beach at Larchmont Manor Park… After  a long day in real estate, I took my pooch, Binky over to have a quick “dip!” It isn’t a luxurious beach,  nor should it be, for to have an actual beach where dogs are allowed is both unusual and great.

There is a sign as you enter…   “all dogs are to be kept on a leash” – well, I didn’t really see that in effect, but I did see all owners very in charge and responsible for their pets, making sure there were no fights, etc. DSC03995The beach is accessed at the very end of Beach Avenue (you will have to park a few blocks away from the beach as there is no parking or hardly any parking in that vicinity), but since you will be exercising your pet anyway, a little walk is always nice!

Larchmont is GREAT!

That looks like a lot of fun. I wish I had a dog. Maybe I'll borrow yours.

For someone who is supposed to be knowledgable about the area, she should know that Dog Beach is NOT part of Manor Park or even an actual park. It is blogs like this that have created a nuisance for the people taking care of Manor Park, the neighborhood and the local police force. If you now come and take your dog off its leash, go swimming or picnicking you will be ticketed. Larchmont's "best kept secret" had been ruined.
