It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World

The world seems like such a crazy place right now. I saw a Yahoo headline yesterday morning saying the group of terrorists raping and pillaging Syria and Iraq had just been found to have murdered another 700 people...beheading many of them. This is on top of crucifixions, stonings, whippings, and who knows what else against innocent people caught in their path.

What I find interesting is that it has been 45 years since man has walked upon the moon…and in 2014, Jesus’ admonishment about he who is without sin cast the first stone has to be taken literally, and not figuratively.

It is so sad that these monsters use God as justification for their horrible actions. Just as sad will be the reaction by those without a formalized religion to lay blame at faith’s doorstep…that most of the wars were caused by religion.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I believe in God, and God has only told me to love my brothers and sisters. I am to show love and understanding to those I encounter to people of all faiths, and to those with no faith…that’s it. I am to be a humble servant of God.

No, what we are seeing in the Middle East right now has nothing to do with God. Far from it, what we are seeing is the absence of God in the hearts of these murderers. This is about blood thirsty power, and throughout history that is what it has always been about…power.

If I could ask these monsters one question, it would be this…

If you are so absolutely sure that you are a creation of Almighty God, who then created your enemies...if not God as well?

I wouldn't want to be these monsters when they stand before God and try to explain why they killed and harmed others in His name.

I just want to please God in all I do. I don't see anywhere in the bible where the Lord asks me to murder others.
