How to buy a house with down payment assistance.

You are sitting sipping coffee on the balcony of your apartment, the sound of trucks and cars whizzing by signal the start of the morning commute. Darn you think, there goes my morning peace and quiet!!  From the apartment you hear the kids fighting once again about whose side is whose in the bedroom. With an audible sigh you get up and play police officer. Wow wouldn’t it be nice to buy a home you think as you walk into the apartment, if only I had enough money for a down payment!

This is not common for most people as they dream of the benefits of owning a home. However, one of the biggest stumbling blocks is the amount of the down payment needed to complete the transaction. In an effort to increase home ownership many down payment assistance programs has emerged over the years which helps bridge the gap.  The first step is to locate a lender who is aware of these programs and is affiliated with them. Once you have been qualified with the lender for the loan and the down payment assistance it is wise to discuss your goals with a real estate agent. Once this is done, you can start looking for your home!

This seems too good to true! What type of programs are available for me?

Hope for the future

If you have been thinking of buying, but feel there is not enough money for a down payment, some of these programs are worth taking a look at. Take advantage of the programs the state and the banks are offering at the time. Please let others know that there are programs out there that can assist  in the purchase of a home.

$60,000!?  Kris Painter that is amazing!  The downpayment programs here in GA are not that much but are also first come, first served, which means they can run out as early as October, leaving the last two months ineligible. As a result, we try to get DPA buyers situated before then.

Because home is where dreams come to life!

I know I was shocked too! I am so excited to share with people! They usually run out of money quickly, but our county is asking for double next year!!!! I am glad that GA has a similar program.
