68th Annual Apple Festival, August 29-September 1, 2014
When people think apples they don't think of Western North Carolina, but Henderson County has the 7th largest apple production of the country. There are about 200 apple growers here, and 65% of all apples grown in NC are grown in this county.
So every Labor Day weekend Hendersonville celebrates with the festival. Be prepared to enjoy apples made in every way you can imagine. And don't forget to take some home. There will be plenty of fresh apples for everyone. Whether a few apples or a few bushels, they have you covered. And get a good variety, there are plenty to chose from.
Besides Apples, you will find a great line up of bands every night. There will be more than just apple sales. You will find over 200 vendors lining Main Street, from the visitors center on South Main all the way to Four Seasons Blvd. on North Main. Local crafts, and festival food, children's activities and events all downtown.
There will be events all over town, like the antique car show at the Laurel Park Shopping Mall, the Blood Drive, the Gem show at the Lapidary Museum, Apple Orchard Tours, the 7th Avenue Farmers Market, Apple Orchard Bicycle EcoTour and more. For a complete schedule of events, download the brochure.
