You can have a 'River Hero Home'.

I came across this program called 'River Hero Home' on  the James River Association's website.  I not only thought it was a fantastic concept, I thought its a project that was worthy of promoting.   There are 3 easy steps on becoming a River Hero Home.  First,  you must utilize a river friendly practice.  This can range from adding native plants to your landscaping, installing a rain barrel or planting a tree.   Second, make a commitment to support the cause.  Whether it is to cut down on the use of fertilizers, to  pick-up your pet's waste, garden organically or aerate your lawn.  And lastly, fill out an application to become a River Hero Home.
