I didn't know my microphone battery was nearly dead, but I think the view and the kids with surfboards tell the story without many words. Josh and I arrived at RAT Beach in Palos Verdes Estates just as a surfing class concluded. RAT Beach is extremely popular with the locals as the shallow water is great for children and surfing classes.
Located in the Malaga Cove area of Palos Verdes Estates, there is ample free parking but keep in mind it is a hike down to RAT Beach. If you are searching for a secluded beach (it's a hike to a bathroom or drinking fountain) to enjoy the tail end of summer, RAT Beach is worth the walk.
I've spent many enjoyable hours at this beach and I'll include a favorite photo or two.
