These are some wonderful ways to search.  Sometimes, for key posts, I bookmark them.  I also have a post with a bunch of my key posts.  I usually use the search function on here and it works. Thx for the extra tips as that will make it easier.

This is an great post. I have had a challenge finding post on Active Rain and now I know how to streamline the search.

Simplification is the name of the game.  So many times people make things more difficult than they really are.

It's not hard to find that old post IF you's been careful to use specific keywords or keyword phrases when it was written. 

My advice to one of my favorite bloggers who can't find old articles is, DON'T BE CUTE!  Be specific.

Thanks for the how-to.  Not too long ago I went through a next page .. next page .. next page search.  Oh well, that process did remind me of some pretty good blogs I'd forgotten about!

I'm going to test this on YOU...and see if you have ever written a post about how to clean up and organize your tags. That project would probably take me months...but I'd like to get started. 

From the beginning of AR, I have put HomeRome as a tag in all my blogs. Easy to find a post from way back when.

It is like finding an old lost friend. Tag well and searching is not so hard. Great blog Craig!

I do it this way:

I remember what the gist of the post was about that I want to find, so I type my name, colon, and the gist

funny and useful.

the funny, in how you demonstrated this, means that I'll remember it.

Excellent tips - I didn't know about the intitle search word.  That will help.

Craig - that is a great tip to search "by Eric Boucher" and then use keywords.  I search for my blogs by using the tags cloud but even that can take some time.  This will be MUCH quicker!  Thank you so much!

Oh Craig Daniels I have done zillon of times the searches because sometimes I want to add the related blog to my current blog. Very helpful tip!

With a little trial and error, I came up with the same thing. I even do that sometimes to find my own "old" posts!  Great post and I'm sure it will spare some readers that whole "trial and error" experience.

I love Google, they are the site I use more than any other.

If I go through the bulk of my bookmarked posts, a very large percentage of them are yours.

Here's another good one to bookmark.  I've never even heard of the use of intitle:

This is one of my pet peeves....so frustrating when I am trying to find an old post and just can't find it.  For whatever reason, I've not done a very good job at tagging my posts.  Not that our tagging feature works all that well either!  Thank you for the GREAT tips! I've bookmarked!

Thank you for another GREAT blog.  Sometimes answers to our most frustrating problems are so obvious and so simple.  I am guilty of searching pages for specific blogs.  No more thanks to you!
