Things to do in Denver - Labor Day Weekend 2014
The Labor Day weekend is right around the corner and that means the Taste of Colorado will be held at Civic Center Park in downtown Denver. There is a full weekend planned packed with great food, arts and crafts and a variety of music. FREE Entry!
FOOD: You will find Cajun, German, Greek, Caribbean, French, Middle Eastern, South American, Asian, Indian, Mexican and many types of desserts. There are over 50 restaurants featured and offer portions to full meals. You will be able to buy tickets to purchase food. See all the choices here.
MUSIC: Music is scheduled over this 3-day weekend ranging from smooth jazz to rock n roll on 5 stages throughout the park. Some big names scheduled are Commodores, Wallflowers and Creedence Clearwater Revisited and many local bands to name a few. See the full schedule here. All FREE!
ARTS & CRAFTS: Booths filled with clothing, jewelry, fine art and one-of-a-kind crafts will be displayed throughout the park. If you are looking for unique Christmas gifts, this may be the place!
HOURS: Friday, Aug. 29th - 11:30 am to 10 pm
Saturday & Sunday - 10:30 am to 10 pm
Monday Sept. 1st - 10:30 am to 8 pm
It is advised to ride the bus, take light rail or ride your bike (if you don't have one - try the B-Cycle with stations very close to Civic Center Park) into this area, as parking will be at a premium. Streets around the park will be closed during the weekend, see this map.
FYI - Items NOT allowed in the park -
- Alcoholic beverages, beverage containers, glass bottles, food, or beverages
- Coolers, picnic baskets, or carry-ins of any type (backpacks or large bags will be searched)
- Kites, Frisbees, balls, or other sports equipment
- Scooters, skateboards, or inline skates
- Bicycles (please use bike parking)
- Pets (except service animals)
- Firearms, weapons, contraband, or laser pointers
- Marijuana may not be smoked, consumed, distributed, or sold onsite
While you are there -
- No video or audio recording during live performances
- No unauthorized vendors
