Eastvale School District Boundaries Targeted for Change
The Norco/Corona school district boundaries may be in for a change. Many of the students who are within the boundary for Jurupa Unified School District are on transfer to Corona/Norco schools. This week there are about 100 students on transfer with 388 Eastvale students that attend Jurupa schools. This is due to overcrowding and the distance from where they live to the schools. There will be a sixth Eastvale school open next summer and a seventh school is in the plans to ease over crowding.

Many kids that live within Eastvale city boundaries and go to Jurupa schools have parents that attend the Eastvale city council meetings. Parents voice concern that the scores from Jurupa Unified Schools are lower than Eastvale schools and they would much rather attend Eastvale schools.
On August 1, there was a request submitted to the Riverside County Office of Education with a signed petition that boundaries be changed. If the petition is validated, public hearings will be held within 60 days within both school districts hopefully to determine what position should be taken on boundary alignment.
