Credit tip number 7 is that you cannot close on a mortgage loan with an active credit dispute. Wrap up these issues before you apply for a mortgage and do not open new disputes with the credit bureaus before you close on your new home.

Great tip, Whitney. Another reason it's so important to work with a reputable credit repair company. I've had people say "my credit is fixed!" and then I get a report full of active disputes. Good job educating people here.

Whitney, Great advice as a dispute will stop the lender cold and no closing for sure. Wait till after you close to dispute something.
