How Drinking Water Helps Our Body

how drinking water helps our bodyHow many folks do you know who say they don't want to drink anything before going to bed because they'll have to get up during the night?  I don't like to.  But, I have been getting leg cramps at night.

Did you know your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.  Now I drink a full glass of water before going go bed, and I don't have leg cramps...easy fix and no meds!  Except, I do have to get up a few times during the night.  But, that's okay as the leg camps can  r e a l l y  hurt!

I received an email from a friend about drinking water. She asked her doctor why do people need to urinate so much at night time.  Her Cardiac Doctor said that gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell).  When you lie down and the lower body (legs and etc.) seeks level with the kidneys, it is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier.

Did you know that drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body:

  • 2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs,
  • 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion,
  • 1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure,
  • 1 glass of water before going to bed – avoids stroke or heart attack, as well as help with leg cramps.

Now just think...how important water is to all of us. I decided to google water and found this informative article about Why Water is Important for Life

Remember...drink water!

What a great post for a re-post.  I drink nearly 2 gallons of water a day.. and yes, water in- water out.. but it's so healthy.
