This picture is taken from Otter Crest Loop off Highway 101. The North Coat Highway (101) is scenic and historic in many different ways. It is 1,540 miles long and extends through Washington State, Oregon and California. It was originally created in 1926 to link the Spanish missions, pueblos and presidios.

Prices for real estate on the Oregon Coast are all over the map. They range from $100,000 to a million. We typically go to Cannon Beach which is considerably North of Depoe Bay and the prices are higher. This reflects the fact that the community is closer to Portland thus more accessible for quick weekend retreats from Oregon's financial district. From downtown Portland it's about 1.5 hour to Cannon Beach. With ZERO traffic I was up & down Interstate 5 and out to Newport in 4.5 hours round trip
Depoe Bay is known for whale watching and having the World's SMALLEST harbor.
