Me , my wife, my youngest son, and his fiance went to the New Britain Roc Cats vs the New Hampshire Fisher Cats game this past Friday.  This was the Final 2014 Home Series For The New Britain Rock Cats and a great way to start off the Labor Day weekend.  The Rock Cats are the Double AA Minor League affiliate for the Minnesota Twins, and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats are the affiliate for the Toronto Blue Jays.  My family and I love to go to the New Britain Rock Cats games and try to go to several of them a year, especially when the Trenton Thunder, the New York Yankees AA affiliate is in town.

New Britain Rock Cats Stadium, in New Britain, CT is only 15 minutes up RT9, and an excellent place to not only go see some excellent baseball, but also a great opportunity to see future baseball stars.  Major league All Stars like Joe Mauer, and David Ortiz have all played there on their way up to the major leagues.

Every seat at New Britain Rock Cats Stadium is amazing, there is no bad seat in the place, even the bleachers.  Ticket prices are incredibly cheap, the best seat in the place only cost $20, so you do not have to mortgage your house to buy food and drink there.  As I said earlier my family and I try to catch a number of games at the New Britain Rock Cats Stadium throughout the Summer, whether it be as a family, or with a group of friends.  The New Britain Rock Cats Stadium is very easy to get to.  It is right off RT9 so you don't have to battle inner city traffic to get there or when you leave.

The weather was perfect for the game last Friday, and even though the Rock Cats lost the game 4-3, it was still an excellent evening out with the family.  I will be marking the calendar for the start of the New Britain Rock Cats 2015 season and hope to be there for the opening series.

George,  For the love of the game is what comes to my mind reading this. It should not require one to mortgage their home to be able to afford to see a sporting event. These minor leagues allow us to do that. I think there are many times when the minor leagues pay better. The last Giant's game I attended I could not believe the outfielders. It was like their feet were cemented to the ground ... they were not making moves for the balls ... and they got their butts kicked too! No surprise there.

George: Ball games are always a fun time, especially when the tickets are reasonable and the seats great!

Kathleen I know what you mean.  I have seen a few games like that at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park.

Anita in this case I got the tickets for free through work, so that was even better :)

George, we made a few games there this year with Raphael and had fun. Every Friday night game ends with fireworks. We followed their first baseman, Kennys Vargas, who has since been called up to the Twins and has been a pretty solid contributor
