Taste of Colorado 2014, 2014 Taste of Colorado, Denver, Civic Center Park
Labor Day weekend in Denver means it is time for A Taste of Colorado. Each summer over Labor Day weekend restaurants and food trucks from all across the state gather in Civic Center Park and the surrounding streets to show case their most popular dishes.
This festival has been a part of Colorado’s history since its first year in 1895. Originally known as Festival of Mountain and Plain, the event was thought up after the silver panic as a way to increase optimism and determination among Colorado residents. Now more than 500,000 people come out to enjoy the event each year.

Although food is the main attraction of the festival, many local businesses and vendors take part as a way to show off and sell their products. The festival also includes a kid’s game area and free concerts though out all 4 days of the event.
Admission for the event is free, however to purchase food from the participating vendors visitors will need to purchase tickets as they enter the festival. Food tickets are sold in packs of 15 for $10 and each food item is priced in tickets by its size.

This year, A Taste of Colorado began on Friday August 29th and will continue through Monday September 1st. The festival’s hours are Saturday & Sunday: 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday: 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
To abide by food, health and safety codes only service animals are allowed inside the festival.
