If You Are Interested: Each year the first Monday of September is a national holiday called "Labor Day". It is an annual tribute to recognize the contributions of Americas workers to the strength, prosperity and well being of our great country. The labor Day movement started with simple municipal ordinances. While it was introduced first as possible legislation in New York, it was first passed into law in Oregon, on February 21, 1887. By 1894, an additional 23 states had legally adopted Labor Day as a state holiday. On June 28th 1894, The United States Congress passed into law that the first Monday of September was to be recognized as a national holiday, called Labor Day.
