Kirkwood High School Hosts "Open House" Event September 5th, 2014

Kirkwood High School will be hosting an open house event on Friday, September 5 from 5-6:45 p.m. at KHS. The community is invited to tour the new areas in band, journalism and ATLAS prior to the Pioneers first home football game when they kick-off against Lafayette at 7 p.m.

Band, journalism and ATLAS students and staff will be on hand to offer tours of the nearly 17,000 square feet of instructional space upgrades. Tours begin at 5 p.m. The most convenient access to the classrooms will be from the Essex parking lot.

At 6:45, tours will end and we will head to E.L. Lyons Memorial Stadium to cheer on the Pioneers.

Prior to the Pioneer Pride Marching Band performance, members from the KSD Board of Education and KHS representatives will rededicate E. L. Lyons Memorial Stadium.

Schedule of events:

5 pm: Band, Journalism and ATLAS classroom spaces will be open for tours (most convenient access to classrooms will be from the Essex parking lot)

6:45 pm: Tours end

7 p.m: Pioneers kick-off against Lafayette

Half-time: E.L. Lyons Memorial Stadium will be rededicated

Shanna, this is a great idea to host an open house before a football game on a Friday night! They should have thrown in some tailgate action as well with food as a fundraiser! Kirkwood will need some luck playing LAFAYETTE as it is our county seat in TIPPECANOE County! ^_~
