Holiday decorating and home buying , or are the neighbors really scary ?

Real Estate Agent with Innovative Realty Solutions Group BK3248318

No one loves decorating for the holidays more than I, its not uncommon to come to my home and see my dining room table adorned with decorations for the current holiday or season or the occasional animatd yard art or lights, however, I am not trying to sell my home.

As I walk into the mass markets I have already seen a plethora of Halloween and Christmas decorations, some cute and some , well, to be honest , quite frightening!  This can be an obstacle when Sellers are "decorators" or worse, when the neighbors are!

I remember last year, when previewing homes with newly met buyers, and we pulled up to an adorable home, with 3 of the neighbors yards decorated in Tombstones, oversized spider webs, bats and black cats everywhere.  They did not even want to see the home...Next...
Then of course was the home 2 doors down from an "Extreme decorator" ( actually featured on HGTVs Extreme Christmas decorations) where the small circular street had to have nightly traffic police ...

As Realtors, we have no control over what the neighbors do, but having a conversation with potential buyers ahead of time is probably worth the time , and a question you may want to ask your sellers about!

Dont let the neighborhood frighten your buyers!

I agree, less is more when your house is on the market.

I agree too.  Sometimes those are so scary for the kids but the adults seem to love them.
