I received a frantic email from a past client the other day. She mentioned that the family was away for two weeks and when they came back she noticed a fungus or mold growing out of the sink. I asked her if there is proper venting in the bathroom and she said there is. Through the years I've learned everybody's perception of mold can be different, this is why we leave detection to the experts.
She asked if I had a recommendation for a mold expert and I gladly furnished one. She also called a plumber, for leaking faucets as she thought this was the cause of the mold. The plumber took a look and immediately started laughing. My client was baffled and said "what's so funny?" He said " there isn't any mold or fungus growing out of your sink, it is simply a sprouted bean. I guess this is how Jack and the Bean Stalk began, she may have a bigger problem on her hands.. :o)
