West Portal Fixer Sold for Over $1Mil

Let me say up front this wasn't my listing, I wasn't involved in the transaction at all. I just want to point out what the market is like in San Francisco.

San Francisco's West Portal neighborhood is a solid middle to upper class area. Ideal family neighborhood, a safe area for walking - even at night. West Portal Avenue looks like any mid-sized town's Main Street. And there is a light rail station that can wisk you downtown in 10 to 15 minutes (usually).

West Portal FixerThis fixer is a short walk to all I mentioned in the above paragraph. It has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, 1200+ sf and some additional rooms downstairs. It looks like a fixer - peeling paint, fragile single pane windows, looked like some water damage in the living room ceiling, no real upgrades in years and years.

It listed at $799,000, a reasonable price for its condition. Active on market for only 15 days.

And the final sales Price? $1,116,000.

As they say in the biz, location, location, location!

I believe it!

Fixers are a gold mine if handled correctly especially if it's in a very desirable area.

300K over asking price, seems to be a lot of potential in your market John.

Best of success to you as you get involved in the next impressive transaction!

Location rules and that sounds like a very desirable one.  I do love the look of the house - very quaint - and I bet it could be a little jewel box.
