Yes, smart to look at these and I agree w/ your requests, and I have wanted the same. I'll also add Bob Stewart that I would love to be able to look at clicks for past 30 days...because once you get through the initial attn on the blog roll, this gives you a good read on on how many Non AR people are finding us.
My other wish (for later) would be to get more analytics on where they are from or how found us (like channels on GA).

you are offering a lot of tips on how to improve your blogs and your relation to the reader.
lot of work was done here and it's a keeper
Oh and terms of my #'s, the priority posts are on my blog. My top FAQ has over 65,000 clicks (How long to refinish hardwood), 2nd one has over 61,000...Oil vs Water based poly), and #3 red oak vs white oak has over 54,000. I think these were all written around 2 yrs ago.
On AR, my #1 post is July 4th fireworks w/ over 22,000 clicks. (not relevant to my biz though, but my way of giving back to AR). The one form year before was 10,000 clicks. 2nd 2 on AR best type of hardwood for pets at 14000 clicks...but on my site my post best type of hardwood for dogs is at 28000 clicks and it was written later. shows what your WP blog can do (when powered w/ AR)

Craig- I like your idea (hear that Bob Stewart of being able to see which clicks are external of ActiveRain!!!
Here's my top 2 clicks

Craig - my clicks were high on the second one because it was a challenge so members were coming back to the post. Although that's still a lot of clicks.

Thanks Craig. I did not know about clicking at the top of each column! I do now.
Wow, 16000+ views on a post, Craig Daniels - not reached that far, so far but with little tweaks here and there, I should be able to.
Oh wow, thanks for all the information, I pick up so much here. Lynn reblog this and I am glad she did
I would like to know who outside the Rain is looking at my posts. don't need to know who they are just that they are not agents etc. Great thought hope they follow through with it.
Yes Craig, I do this periodically and my best ones are the ones with outrageous titles...so to speak..thanks!
Kathy Streib and Debbie Gartner ,
I know that we have a decent overhaul of this stats area on the list for things to work on. I will make sure that this blog post (and the moreso the comments) are read by our team as we start scoping out exactly what that new stats area will hold.
While I'm not 100% sure on the viability of everything that's been asked, we will certainly take this stuff under consideration. I do know that the ability to see clicks in a certain time frame (like in the last 30 days) is something currently being planned. The one I would not be completely sure on is the ability to separate AR member versus non-AR member clicks. If it's possible, we would certainly consider it.

Craig, I think I need to pay more attention to what you are doing because my numbers are not approaching yours or some of the other members yet.
Bob Stewart - thanks for checking in
Each blog post page is rendered differently depending on if the person is "logged in" or not (e.g. top nav bars, etc). So the back-end system has an awareness of if it knows the user or not. I really think it would be extremely helpful in the AR analytics database just to add a new column that "if NOT AR logged in, count+1"
thanks for passing along these ideas!
We are promoting SEO so much through classes and training, this is affirmation of whether doing it right or wrong. If you do a market report for instance, get 75 clicks but it turns out all 75 clicks are AR members, then it is time to rethink if our time spent doing these things is worth it.
Bob Stewart thanks for getting back to Debbie and me. Happy to know that we're being heard!!!
Craig, I've had market reports get thousands of clicks. I somehow don't think these are AR members.
Craig, Great idea. I will run over and look at this. Should be interesting and helpful for future blogging.
Tammie White that's awesome - that quantity is surely mostly external to AR member clicks - well done!
Craig Daniels I just came over to this post thanks to re-blog by Lynn F....Please forgive me for taking a different position from you post. Those numbers are impressive yes in 2011 & 2012 I had high numbers not as high as you but still impressive i.e.: around 6000-8000 views...now with the NEW & IMPROVED Trulia Active Rain I would love if you would share with us what your viewership is now...I bet it dropped 80% or more as mine did....just sayin...Endre
Hi Craig~ I've decided I need to take a new approach to blogging. I'm going to start scheduling my time, so that I'm just "making time" for it and pushing other things off my list that need time too! Once I've got the time scheduled, I can begin to focus on my most effective blogging! Thanks for the great post.
Craig, This is something that I have just never done. I read blogs like this and tell myself, I need to do that. Perhaps today I may actually do it!
And, by the way, I like your ping to Bob Stewart to see the breakdown of clicks from AR and non-AR.
