Severe storms or hurricanes can damage to businesses and homes in Eastchester, NY, so have an emergency plan!
Some of you may have seen my blog posts earlier this summer for hurricane prep and preparing for the worst -- we can always hope for the best!
I mentioned the statistics about businesses that suffer a disaster like a severe storm -- a microburst -- or Superstorm Sandy storm surge and/or water damage in a store or office building -- wet computers are not good.
A key point was that only 50% of us will make it back from a severe fire, water or storm damage. See my blogs for any info. you may have missed or will need, at:

September is National Preparedness Month, so our local, state and Fed organizations have called on businesses and homeowners to have an emergency plan ready to go. With climate change and two disasterous hurricanes, with a tropical storm chaser, were lessons learned.
Remember that Hurricane Irene and TS Lee in August / September of 2011? Then a year later, Sandy came in to the Tri-state area after hitting Atlantic City as a Cat 3 Hurricane VERY late for the season on October 28, 2012. Let's not be short sited here...Sandy is probably our new normal.
Since severe storms and hurricanes may be our new normal in the Mid-Atlantic and New York City areas, it's time to get ready...unless you are a rock star and have a plan in place on a tall mountain in the Rockies. So here's the question?
Would you be ready if there was an emergency, like a storm or hurricane, one of those odd earthquakes in our area?
Throughout September there were activities in the NY Tri-state area and cross the country to promote emergency preparedness. More than 3,000 organizations – national, regional, and local public and private organizations – are supporting emergency preparedness efforts and encouraging all American home and business owners to plan.
Again, please See my blogs above to celebrate being PREPARED with emergency kits, evacuation and meetup plans etc. Even as September ends -- sorry have been away at a convention and brief vacays -- it's not too late to Make a Plan and Be Ready.
You can go to "redcross.org" and search for "Make a plan" for their one page guide to what you will need to prepare at a home or business. My team even has complimentary Emergency Ready plans for commercial and multi-family buildings...mostly for property management teams.
Stay safe in Eastchester in southern Westchester County, NY and beyond!
