Day 19 - Sponsor Contests

Ever drop your business card in a bowl at a restaurant or store, and days later get a call saying you've won lunch for two or a $25 gift certificate to your favorite store? Some business person is sponsoring those raffles, so why can't you?

What do you get from sponsoring contests? Let's see:

Who wants some LEADS!! These aren't just leads though. These leads have:

• full, correct contact information (they're trying to win something - who falsifies contact info when they want to win?)
• opt-in permission to call (they're asking you to contact them)
• warm contact status (you have an easy, open door when you speak with them - the contest they entered)

So, if you haven't done so before, set up a contest. It doesn't have to be a huge ordeal. It can be as simple as a raffle held on your website or a sign put up in a local restaurant or store (which you can then write a local blog post about!) with a fish bowl to collect business cards. Regardless of the direction you choose to take, be all in! That means, make sure you have the prize ready to give away when you announce the winner!
